Booster pump sets: steady water pressure on every floor, at every hour.

Packaged, variable-speed booster sets for residential towers, compounds, hotels, hospitals and industry. Sized from your drawings, assembled and tested in Egypt, and serviced by our team around the clock.

Armstrong variable-speed booster set and inline pumps on a seaside terrace, Gabtic

Summary

Gabtic supplies, installs and services packaged booster pump sets in Egypt. The sets are built on Armstrong vertical multistage pumps with a variable-speed drive on each pump. They keep water pressure constant across a building as demand changes, with two or more pumps per set, and Gabtic has served Egyptian buildings since 1979.

Components

What's inside a Gabtic booster set

Armstrong-style triplex booster pump set: three red vertical multistage pumps with variable-speed drives on a stainless steel skid, shared headers, pressure vessel and control panel
Triplex booster set: three variable-speed pumps on one skid.
ComponentWhat it does
Two or more vertical multistage pumps, stainless steelShare the load. One or more run while the others alternate or stand by
Variable-speed drive on each pumpHolds pressure constant and cuts energy use when demand is low
Pressure transducer and controllerReads system pressure and brings pumps on and off in sequence
Pressure vessel(s)Absorb small demands, so pumps don't cycle at night
Stainless suction and discharge headersPre-assembled, with isolation and non-return valves on each pump
Dry-run protectionStops the pumps if the suction tank runs low
Common base frameDelivered as one unit, which shortens installation time
BMS connectionStatus, alarms and energy data sent to the building management system

Every set is assembled and tested in Egypt before it ships.

Configurations

Standard configurations

  • Twin (1 duty + 1 standby)

    Villas, small buildings, single towers

  • Triple (2 duty + 1 standby)

    Mid-rise towers, hotels, clinics

  • Quad and above

    Compounds, malls, hospitals, high-rise

  • Custom

    Process water, irrigation, special duties

Flow and head are selected for each building from your drawings, and every selection comes with pump curves.

Sizing

How to size a booster set

  1. Flow

Count the fixtures (basins, WCs, showers, kitchen sinks) and convert them to design flow using a simultaneous-demand method. The result is less than the sum of all the fixtures, because not everything runs at once.

  2. Head

    Add up three things:

    • The static height from the tank to the highest outlet. Roughly 3 m per floor.
    • Friction losses in pipes and fittings.
    • The residual pressure needed at the top outlet, commonly about 1.5–2 bar.
  3. Pressure zoning

In tall buildings, lower floors can get too much pressure. Pressure-reducing valves or separate zones keep fixture pressure within a comfortable range.

  4. Redundancy

Always add at least one standby pump. When a pump is down, the water mustn't stop.

Sizing form

Send us your drawings or fill in the sizing form. You need the number of floors, apartments or rooms, the tank location and your target pressure. We'll return a selection with pump curves.

Not sure? 2 bar is a common target.

Comparison

Booster set vs. rooftop tank

Many Egyptian buildings still pump water up to a rooftop tank and let gravity feed the floors. The top floors then get weak pressure, and the tank adds weight to the roof and needs cleaning. A booster set supplies the building directly from a ground or basement tank, at constant pressure on every floor.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a booster pump set?

A booster set is two or more pumps on one base, with a controller and pressure vessel. It raises water pressure and holds it constant, turning pumps on and off and adjusting their speed to match demand.

How many pumps does my building need?

Most buildings need at least two: one running and one on standby. Larger buildings use three or more so the pumps can share peak demand. The right number depends on the flow and on how much redundancy you want.

Why variable speed instead of fixed speed?

Fixed-speed pumps run flat out and switch on and off, which wastes energy and causes pressure swings. Variable-speed sets match output to demand, so pressure stays steady, energy use drops, and the pumps wear more slowly.

Can a booster set feed the fire-fighting system too?

No. Fire protection needs a separate, listed fire pump package built to NFPA 20. See fire pumps

Do you service booster sets you didn't supply?

Yes. Our service team maintains and repairs booster sets whoever supplied them.

How long does delivery take?

Stocked models ship from our warehouse in Egypt. Custom sets depend on the specification. Ask us for the current lead time on your configuration.
